Peregrine Theatre regularly runs schools drama workshops for Activity Days, Arts Events, Festivals, Gifted & Talented, Enrichment, collapsed timetable days etc.
As with all our work, these drama workshops are tailored to suit your needs and all our Activity Days can be structured to include an element of students' performance.
Popular topics include:
Drama Days for Younger Pupils, Yr. 8 and 9 etc. – fun activities for younger pupils and an extremely effective means of encouraging the enjoyment of drama whilst imparting real skills – the emphasis as always is on training rather than entertaining. These drama workshops also help encourage pupils to take up Drama at GCSE.
Skills Development – particularly appropriate for GCSE students, especially Yr. 10, and for Yr. 12 students with relatively little Drama experience. These drama workshops impart the skills students will need to face the demands of the syllabus, including voice, movement, characterisation, teamwork… etc.
Music Hall and / or Melodrama
Commedia dell'Arte – Goldoni, Moliere, Accidental Death etc.
Stage Fighting – pupils learn to perform simple routines effectively and safely – usually in the context of improvised or scripted scenarios, Shakespeare etc.
Script Work / Rehearsal techniques / Page to Stage – various texts
Physical Theatre – a great introduction to non-Naturalistic theatre styles for those new to the topic or an ideal opportunity to stretch and inspire the more experienced.
The pupils were clearly captivated from the start, and I was delighted at how positively they responded, and pleased at how readily many of them involved themselves, and this was entirely owing to your superb manner with them.
